Sumarendra Nath Gupta (1887-1964) was an legendary Indian artist and the principle of Mayo School of Arts, Lahore.( Now National College of Arts).He devoted more than 30 years of his life to this college.
His Daughter Kalyani Gupta was born in Lahore in 1917. She studied in Kinnaird college and goverment college lahore. She was Second Officer of the Women’s Royal Indian Naval Service (WRINS), a section of the Women's Auxiliary Corps (India) WAC(I). In 1945, she became the first Indian service woman to visit the UK.
