Ganga Power Station Renala Khurd in Okara

 


Ganga Power Station Built By The Son Of Punjab Honourable Sir Ganga Ram Located On Baloki- Sulemanki Link Canal At Renala Khurd in Okara district in West Punjab (present days Pakistan).It was built in 1925 and was one of the first hydro power stations in India.

Ganga Power Station Was Opened By His Excellency Sir William Malcolm Hailey B.A., K.C.S.I., C.I.E., I.C.S, The Then Governor Of The Punjab Province on 22nd March 1925 A.D. Mr. W. P. Sancster ESQ, I.C.S Was Chief Engineer, Mr. J. Ashford Esq:, O. B. E Was Consulting Engineer And Mr. E. S. Crump Esq:, Was Executive Engineer Of Ganga Power Station Renala Khurd. Another Commemorative Stone Read As:
' He Won Like a Hero And Spent Like A Saint'
' This Bust Of The Late Sir Ganga Ram KT, C. I. E., M. V. O., M. I. C. E., M. I. M. E., Has Been Erected By The Staff of Renala Hydroelectric Power Scheme As A Token of Love And Respect For Their Master.'
Now Ganga Power Station Is Named as Renala Hydel Power Station Renala Khurd.
